U.S. Air Forces Africa, along with the Kenyan air force, are co-hosting the 9th annual African Air Chiefs Symposium in Kenyan Capital Nairobi which begun on Monday until 29 August 2019.

More than 40 air force delegates from 38 African countries are expected to participate in this AACS.

The AACS program provides an opportunity to build on previous symposium, expand membership of the Association of African Air Forces, identify key challenges confronting African air chiefs, strengthen partner networks, discuss inter-operable policies and procedures for personnel recovery, and share best practices for enhancing partner capability.

This year’s symposium will feature various small-group sessions to foster a spirit of collaboration, a senior enlisted leader forum to reinforce the criticality of the professional enlisted force, and cultural events to strengthen the partnership between all nations involved.

The 2018 edition held in Morocco saw a key milestone where three new nations, Cameroon, Kenya and Zambia joined the Association of African Air Forces (AAAF).

The AAAF, a voluntary and non-political organization focused on strengthening the bonds of friendship, cooperation and mutual support among African air forces, was formed in 2015.
