Five people died and several others were injured following a traffic accident on a highway headed to Linhai in Hangzhou, Zheijang Province on Tuesday evening.

Authorities were on site to evacuate the injured with preliminary reports indicating that about 36 people were taken to hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

The cause of the accident, which occurred at about 7.20pm local time, is also yet to be established by authorities.
