Senegal international Sadio Mané scored twice as Liverpool came from behind to beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield to make it five wins from five games in the Premier League.
Newcastle took a shock lead in the 7th minute through Jetro Willems’ strike on the edge of the area as the Magpies looked to repeat their shock result against Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool equalised in the 28th minute when Andy Robertson found Mané in space in the penalty box and the Senegal international curled an effort into the far corner.
Liverpool took the lead 12 minutes later when Newcastle keeper Martin Dubravka failed to collect a through pass by substitute Roberto Firmino allowing Mané an easy tap in to complete his brace.
The Premier League leaders extended their advantage when a sublime backheeled flick by Firmino put Salah through on goal and the Egyptian made no mistake from close range.
The result means Sadio Mané has never lost a Premier League home game in which he has scored winning 32 and drawing two out of 34 games.
The European champions also became the fourth team to win 14 consecutive English top-flight matches.
Liverpool next play away at Napoli on Tuesday as it begins the defence of its Champions League title and then travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. Newcastle United will next be in action at home against Brighton on Saturday.
