Prince Harry arrived in Botswana on Thursday as he continues his tour of Africa.

The Duke of Sussex arrived in the country from neighbouring South Africa where he spent three days.

Upon arriving in Botswana, he said it was a country he enjoyed visiting.

"Fifteen years I’ve been coming here, it’s a sense of escapism, a real sense of purpose," he said.

"I have some of my closest friends here and I came here in 1997 or 1998 straight after my mum died, so it was a nice place to get away from it all. Now I feel deeply connected to this place and to Africa.”

Prince Harry is on a 10-day visit of Africa accompanied by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, and their first child, Archie.

Meghan and Archie have however not joined him in his visit of Botswana. They will stay in South Africa throughout the duration of the visit to Africa.

Upon completing his visit of Botswana, Prince Harry will head to Angola and Malawi.

This is the royal couple’s first official trip since the birth of Archie, who was born in May. It is also the first time Meghan is visiting South Africa.
