South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has congratulated China on the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Ramaphosa sent his message to President Xi Jinping via his official Twitter handle on Tuesday evening, joining other world leaders in doing so.
"I would like to take the opportunity to convey to HE Xi Jinping, the government and the people of the People’s Republic of China our warmest greetings & sincere congratulations once again on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.” he said.
Earlier on similar messages had been shared by other leaders from across the world, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Singapore President Halimah Yacob, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.A.E. Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum among others.
China marked the day with elaborate celebrations across the country, featuring military parades, cultural shows, music and dance.
