As various elaborate celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China were held inside the country on Tuesday, citizens living outside the country were also not left behind.

In Morocco, more than 200 Chinese living in the country gathered at the Chinese Embassy in Rabat to join in the celebrations.

The embassy showed the grand military parade and mass parade live, enabling the citizens to be a part of the celebrations from miles away.

Speaking at the event, Chinese Ambassador to Morocco Li Li hailed the hard work done by his fellow countrymen over the past 70 years, saying the spirit had left a mark on human history.

"The Chinese people have always pursued an independent foreign policy of peace and made significant contributions to promoting world peace and development," Li said.

The embassy also held a photo exhibition to showcase China's journey through the 70 years, capturing the key moments in that period.

President Xi on Tuesday led his country in marking the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, where he called for upholding the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

He also called for efforts to constantly meet people's aspirations for a better life and make new historic achievements.
