Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Uganda for an official visit and talks with his host President Yoweri Museveni.

The Zimbabwean leader arrived in Entebbe on Tuesday ahead of the East African country's Independence Day celebrations on Wednesday.

Presidents Mnangagwa and Museveni held talks ahead of the celebrations, after which they proceeded to lead Ugandans in the event held in Sironko.

The Zimbabwean leader in a joint press conference hailed the existing strong relations between the two countries.

“When our brothers and sisters from Southern Africa come here, they are coming home, and when we go there, we are also going home," President Mnangagwa said, adding that Uganda had supported his country "materially, politically and intellectually”.

Museveni on his part revealed that Mnangagwa's visit had "paved way for a business meeting" between the two countries.

This is the second high-profile visit between the two leaders after Museveni's visit to Zimbabwe in April.
