Heavy rains continue to cause havoc in parts of Africa, leaving many people dead across the continent.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has become the latest region to report casualties, as 32 people have died in and around the capital Kinshasa after days of heavy downpour resulted in flooding and landslides.

Officials in the country say the recent situation has been worsened by the region's soil structure, while some people have also built houses on areas close to water streams.

Other countries have also been hit hard by recent flooding, including Kenya and Somalia.

In Kenya, more than 60 people have been killed in the western region due to heavy rainfall that caused massive flooding and landslides.

In Somalia, hundreds of thousands in the Hiraan, Gedo and Jubaland regions have been affected by heavy rains.

Authorities in the affected countries have embarked on rescue and mitigation measures, with people in the affected areas asked to relocate to safer regions to avoid more deaths.
