South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged leaders in Lesotho to observe political tolerance and a unity of purpose in order to propel the country forward.

President Ramaphosa made the call at the country's Multistakeholder National Dialogue Plenary II held in Maseru.

The South African leader attended the forum in his capacity as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) facilitator to Lesotho.

"In pursuit of the common good and a common goal, political differences have had to be put aside, sacrifices and compromises have had to be made, and patience and tolerance has had to be observed.” he said in his address.

The Multistakeholder National Dialogue Plenary II marks the beginning of a new phase of the operationalization of reforms in Lesotho under the guidance of the newly established National Reforms Authority.

President Ramaphosa was accompanied in his trip by various government officials including Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Dr. Naledi Pandor, the Minister of State Security Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, and the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ms Candith Mashego-Dlamini.
