An armed student and an officer were both injured after a shooting erupted between them on Tuesday morning at Oshkosh West High School in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, local media reported.

Oshkosh police chief says school resource officer shot and wounded high school student after teenager stabbed officer.

But stabbing and shooting injuries of officer and student not expected to be life-threatening.

No other students were hurt in the incident, said the police.

The school has been on lock-down, and the students have been taken to another school to meet their parents, said the report.
