Buckingham Palace said in a statement that the 98-year-old went in for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition.
"The Duke of Edinburgh traveled from Norfolk this morning to the King Edward VII Hospital in London for observation and treatment in relation to a pre-existing condition,” the statement read.
"The admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness' Doctor."

He was involved in an accident in January, but he did not sustain any major injuries.
Prince Phillip has some health challenges over the past few years, but is still in good shape given his age.
