Football officials and legends from across the world are gathered in Cairo, Egypt, for the 2019 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards slated for later on Tuesday.
Led by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, top football figures from past and present eras will witness the crowning of the best African footballers of 2019.
In the Men's Player of the Year category, Liverpool duo of Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal) are lined up alongside Manchester City's Algerian forward Riyad Mahrez.
In the women's category, Nigeria's Assisat Oshoala is lined up against Cameroon's Ajara Nchout and South Africa's Thembi Kgatlana.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, legends and officials played a friendly game at the globally renowned Pyramids of Giza on Monday.
The games saw Ahmad lead an African legends side consisting Pascal Zuberbuhler, Khalilou Fadiga, Daniel Amokachi, Nwankwo Kanu, Perpetua Nkwocha, Rabah Madjer, Flavio Amado, Ahmed Hassan, Clementine Toure, Diomansy Kamara, El Hdaji Diouf, Hidetoshi Nakata, Laura Georges, Weal Gomaa and Jean Ssenide.
The African side came up against a world legends team captained by Brazil legend Cafu and with notable players such as FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Julio Cesar, Juan Sebastian Veron, Portia Modise, Gaelle Enganamouit, Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam, Kalusaha Bwalya, Jacqueline Shipanga, Veronica Boquete and Elodie Thomis.
Also in Egypt is former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
