Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was sent off as his side drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

The Gabon international put his side ahead in the first half after latching onto an Alexandre Lacazette pass before guiding the ball past Palace keeper Vicente Guaita.

The Eagles went level after Jordan Ayew found the back of Arsenal's net albeit with a deflection from David Luiz.

Aubameyang went from hero to villain in the 67th minute after a nasty foul on Max Meyer, for which referee Paul Tierney initially awarded a yellow card but upgraded it to a red card after a VAR check.

The result leaves Arsenal in tenth place with 28 points from 22 games, 11 points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place.

Arsenal have now only won three games in 15 Premier League matches, and only six games in the 2019/2020 season.

The North Londoners had hoped to build on their win against Manchester United last time out, but will now rue a missed chance to climb up the table, as they continue the chase for European football.

Arsenal's next game will see them take on an impressive Sheffield United side which is fifth on the standings and full of confidence.
