The Moroccan police announced on Thursday the arrest of 13 hooligans in the northern city of Tangiers following the football match between Ittihad Tangiers and the Rajae club of Casablanca.
The clashes erupted between the fans of the two clubs after the match played on Wednesday evening.
The arrested were on suspicion of being involved in acts of violence, including stone-throwing, property damaging combined with causing material losses to public property.
The statement said that a judicial investigation was going on.
On September 25, a small ministerial cabinet decided to take firm measures to tackle the rise of hooliganism in Morocco.
