Cote d'Ivoire's government has ordered the demolition of informal settlement structures near the country's main airport in Abidjan.

Tens of thousands of people live in the area, but the government says their homes were put up illegally and pose a safety risk.

The eviction comes a few weeks after the death of a child aged around 10 years, who was found in the undercarriage of a plane that had arrived in Paris from Abidjan.

The incident prompted questions regarding the state of security in Cote d'Ivoire's main airport.

The death of the Ivorian boy came as Kenyan authorities are still locked in a quest to identify another stowaway whose body fell from a Kenya Airways flight as it prepared to land at London's Heathrow Airport.
