Africa has luckily had no reported cases of the novel corona-virus outbreak however, several countries remain vigilant in ensuring thorough screening for any suspected cases.

South Sudan’s government has launched a corona-virus screening center at Juba International Airport.

Governments are working hard to ensure that its citizens are not sent into a frenzied panic by ensuring proper information and medical centers are prepared to handle any case that may come.

Kenya’s Dr. Loice Ombajo an infectious disease specialist says staying informed and understanding how you can protect yourself and others from possible infection is how we can maintain a low risk advantage.

Many African governments already have strict measures in place to monitor inbound travelers. While many in Mauritius support the country’s current quarantine policies, some are calling on the government to go even further.

Kenya’s Raphael Tuju, the secretary general of the Jubilee Party, as well as the country’s cabinet secretary without portfolio, commended China’s handling of the virus. He also sent his condolences to loved ones of those killed by the corona-virus.
