Multiple Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is set to team up with the world's second richest man, Bill Gates, for a charity tennis match against another Grand Slam multiple winner Roger Federer, who will team up with one of South Africa's most beloved comedy exports, Trevor Noah.

The four are part of a star-studded celebrity line up set to take part in the 6th edition of the annual Match for Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Friday games are organized by Roger Federer Foundation, which aims to educate over 1.5 million disadvantaged children in six African countries and Switzerland.

The African countries targeted include Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This will be the first time that the Match for Africa will be played in the continent, and is already attracting massive reception among tennis lovers.

In addition to raising funds to educate children, the clash at Cape Town Stadium will also attempt to break the word record for the most-attended tennis match in history.

The current record was set in Mexico City in November 2019 when Federer defeated Alexander Zverev in front of 42,517 fans.

Organizers hope to attract 50,000 spectators to Cape Town Stadium.

Ahead of his trip to South Africa, Federer visited Namibia to assess the impact his foundation has had in the country. His visit was welcomed by President Hage Geingob who hailed him as "an exemplary champion".
