Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday met with Saudi Arabia's King Salman in Riyadh for bilateral talks.
This is President Tebboune's first state visit since he was elected in December.
The Saudi Press Agency reports that the two leaders' talks focused on strengthening cooperation on various issues between their two countries as well as matters of international interest.
"During the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the President of Algeria reviewed solid relations between the two brotherly countries and ways of developing and strengthening them in various fields. They also discussed the latest developments at the regional and international arenas," said a statement after the meeting.
Tebboune's trip is also believed to focus on rallying support for a summit it plans to host on the crisis in neighbouring Libya.
