China immigration officers play important role in fighting epidemic

As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread across the world, china's national immigration administration has been playing an important role in containing the epidemic.

In Beijing's international airports, immigration officers have been working around the clock since the novel corona virus outbreak began.

Officer Wang Bo of the repatriation and investigation center is one of such heroic gatekeepers. He was diagnosed with thyroid cancer before the outbreak. Wang was supposed to undergo surgery in January but instead he kept on performing his duty during the spring festival travel peak.

As the epidemic continues, Wang never got a chance to visit his doctor. He said he is needed in the front line to fight the epidemic apart from taking care of his young son and pregnant wife.

Wang's team handled as many as over one hundred cases in a single day.

With the contribution of each and every immigration officer, Beijing general station of exit and entry frontier inspection is strengthening big data analysis in border control to screen passengers to contain the spread of the virus.
