Seychelles confirms fourth COVID-19 case

COVID-19 cases in Seychelles have reached 4, according to the country's Public Health Authority (PHA).

PHA confirmed the latest patient to be a female Dutch national who was visiting the country for tourist purposes. She is the wife of another patient who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

The couple arrived in Seychelles on Wednesday 11 March, 2020.

All Seychelles cases so far have been imported cases and have been placed under quarantine.

"The first two positive cases (a Seychellois couple who returned from Italy) are well and are receiving treatment," added the PHA.

PHA says all the patients are stable and will remain in the Isolation Unit at the Anse Royale Hospital for treatment and care.

Seychelles in one of 30 African states that have confirmed cases of COVID-19 as the disease continues to spread around the world.

The latest countries in the continent to report cases are Liberia, Tanzania and Somalia. Over 380 cases have been reported.
