US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that the United States had reached a deal with Canada and Mexico to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
President Trump made the announcement during a briefing to reporters at the White House on the latest situation on the spread of the virus.
"We've also reached agreements with Canada and Mexico on new travel rules at our northern and southern borders to hat the entry of the coronavirus while continuing trade and commerce. We've had very good talks with Prime Minister Trudeau and today, this morning, with President Lopez Obrador," Trump said.
Trump also outlined several measures the government had taken in response to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Trump said that he spoke to representatives of small businesses and assure them that the government would do what it could to support them.
Trump also announced that they were working on additional legislation to provide "massive relief" to small businesses and affected industries.
Trump further said that the government had moved Tax Day from April 15 to July 15 without interest or penalties.
"We moved the date way back, so it will be July 15 instead of your traditional April 15. You will have a lot of time but you are not going to have interest penalties or any kind of penalties by filing at that later date."
Trump added that he signed legislation providing American workers with paid sick leave and paid family medical leave at no cost to employers and free testing to those who needed it.
Trump also said that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that foreclosures and evictions have also been suspended for single family home owners with FHA-insured mortgages for the next 60 days.
