Burkina Faso confirms 27 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 345

Burkina Faso has confirmed 27 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of known infections in the landlocked West African country to 345.

Health officials also announced 24 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 90.

Officials announced one new death from the respiratory illness, bringing the total number of known COVID-19 fatalities to 17.

226 of the cases were male while 119 were female, officials said.
