Djibouti confirms 83 new COVID-19 cases

Djibouti on Monday reported 83 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the country's total to 298.This is one of the highest in the Horn of Africa.

A total of 498 people were tested for the novel coronavirus over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said.

It said 41 COVID-19 patients have recovered, five of whom in the past 24 hours.

Djibouti reported 37 new confirmed cases on Saturday and 28 on Sunday.

Over the weekend, the Ministry of Health reported the second COVID-19 inflicted death in the Red Sea nation, after the country reported its first COVID-19 death on Thursday.

Djibouti, which reported its first confirmed case on March 18, has so far conducted about 4,451 COVID-19 tests, according to the Ministry of Health.
