U.S. President Donald Trump and his South Korean counterpart Moon Jae-in held a telephone conversation on the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the ROK presidency said on Saturday.

Trump hailed ROK's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, saying it was the best model for tackling the disease, and he expressed his gratitude to the country for the supply of test kits.

The two sides agreed to continue cooperation in the quarantine sector.

Regarding the DPRK, President Trump reaffirmed his commitment to a policy of directly engaging the country diplomatically.

Moon and Trump also reaffirmed the principle of providing the communist country with humanitarian aid regarding COVID-19.

This was the second telephone conversation between the two leaders in less than a month.
