Italy recorded 433 new COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, the lowest increase in a week as the country continues to move drift further from the red zone.
The country also saw a slowing down of new infections, having registered 3,047 cases from a previous 3,491, according to the Civil Protection Agency.
Italy has witnessed a downtrend of COVID-19 deaths and cases recently, having peaked in late March.
The slowing down of the numbers is however not going as fast as the country had hoped, having imposed a nationwide lockdown nearly six weeks ago.
Sunday's number of deaths marked the lowest daily rise since April 12, when it came in at 431, before rising again during the week.
Italy is one of the most affected countries globally, having registered over 178,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 23,660 deaths.
