Egypt announced 298 new cases of the coronavirus on Saturday bringing the total number of cases in the country to 6,193.
The number of those who have recovered stands at 1,522 while that of casualties is presently at 415.
The Egyptian government has recently started to ease restrictions and reopen services and offices that have been closed over the past six weeks, amid a “coexistence plan” to live with the pandemic through precautionary measures while resuming services and economic activities.
The country is currently implementing a nine-hour night-time curfew that will continue until the end of the ongoing Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
