Over 10,000 people have since recovered from COVID-19 in S. Africa

As of of Friday, a total of 10,104 people have recovered from the novel coronavirus in South Africa. According to the minister for Health in that country, Dr Zwelini Mkhize so far they have confirmed cases at 20,125 since the first detection of patient zero.

A total of 543,032 tests have been conducted with regrettably further reports indicating 28 COVID-19 related deaths- this brings the total national deaths to 397.

"We wish to express our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who cared for the deceased," the minister said.
