Authorities in Zambia have imposed a requirement that all travelers to the southern African nation should be required to produce a negative COVID-19 certificate, a state agency that runs airports said.

The Zambia Airports Corporation Limited said all travels will be required to provide a certificate as per guidelines issued by the country's health ministry.

"The test should have been conducted within the previous 14 days and any traveler that does not have this document will not be allowed into the country," the notice added.

Zambia has recorded a spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths in recent weeks although most of the cases were domestically transmitted. Cumulative cases currently stands at 6,793.
