Kenya's COVID-19 infections top 32,000

Kenya's COVID-19 infections have surpassed the 32,000 mark as the East African country continues to see a steady rise in cases.

In a media briefing in Nairobi on Saturday, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe announced 355 new cases in the past 24 hours, taking the country's total tally to 32,118.

Kagwe also announced ten new fatalities, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related deaths to 542.

Kenya is one of only eight countries in Africa that have reported more than 30,000 infections.

On the brighter side however, Kagwe announced 296 new recoveries, taking the total number of patients that recovered successfully to 18,453.
