Seychelles President Danny Faure on Tuesday expressed satisfaction with his country's progress in the quest to revive its economy following a months-long disruption occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at a review meeting on resumption of commercial flights to Seychelles, Faure thanked stakeholders for their efforts ensuring the country successfully surmounts the health and economic crises caused by the pandemic.
"Today as we conduct our fourth review, it is clear that we have come a long way as a country and I see much progress. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone lending a hand to ensure we are able to revive our economy and tourism industry whilst also ensuring the safety of our people and our country," said Faure.
Seychelles has reported 132 COVID-19 infections an no deaths, according to figures from the U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.
The country is one of the least affected by the pandemic in Africa.
