The number of COVID-19-related deaths in the United States have surpassed the 200,000 mark as the country continues to see a rise in infections.

According to the latest data by the Johns Hopkins University, the country has now registered 200,005 fatalities from 6,861,211 infections.

The death toll is over 63,000 more than the second toll posted by Brazil.
