U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he will be leaving hospital later on Monday following hospitalization for treatment after he tested positive for the coronavirus.

Trump, who revealed on Friday that he and the First Lady, Melania had tested positive for the virus, had been admitted at the U.S. Walter Reed Medical Center.

"I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!" Trump tweeted.

On Sunday, the president's medical team had said that his condition was continuing to improve adding that he could be discharged to the White House as early as Monday.

One of the team members, Dr. Sean Conley, Trump's personal physician, said the president had remained without fever since Friday morning and his vital signs were stable.

The team also said then that Trump will be able to continue his five-day course of remdesivir treatment and other relevant therapy at the White House, if things continued to progress well.
