Russia confirmed 14,922 coronavirus cases and 279 deaths on Saturday, following Friday's record daily rise for the nation, the country's COVID-19 response center said.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for the nation is equal to 1,384,235 and the total death toll is 24,002.

In the Russian capital of Moscow, 4,648 new infections were reported, raising the city's total to 357,643, the center said.

According to the statement, 1,065,199 patients have recovered in Russia, including 8,617 recoveries over the past day.

More than 53.3 million tests have been conducted in the country so far.
