Liverpool's Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah is upbeat ahead of his side's Premier league game against rivals Manchester City later today.

In an interview with Premier League Productions, the 28-year-old hailed Manchester City for their achievements in recent years which were a highlight of the Premier League title challenge.

"They won the two Premier League titles before we won it last season. They have been unbelievable in the Champions League and the Premier League," said Salah.

"It's always competitive between us, there's always competition between us both. So, we're looking forward to that game and I'm sure they're looking forward to the game as well because now we have to defend the Premier League while we're champions."

Liverpool have started the season with five wins from seven games, losing one and drawing the other.

The Reds are currently in fourth place, while Manchester City are in 12th place with 11 points from six games.

A win for Liverpool will take them to the top of the table ahead of Tottenham who currently hold the spot with 17 points from eight games.
