France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Sunday said he shares in the view of projected winner of the U.S. election, Joe Biden, that President Donald Trump’s challenges to the poll results are "irresponsible".
Speaking after a call with state governors on Thursday, Biden cast doubt on the legality of Trump's actions as he continues to decline to acknowledge the election results as called by various media organizations.
"What the president's doing now … it's going to be another incident where he will go down in history as being one of the most irresponsible presidents in American history," said Biden. "It's just not within the norm at all, and there's a question as to whether it's even legal."
"I don't know his motive, but I just think it's totally irresponsible."
In response, Le Drian while speaking to LCI television said Biden's comments reflect reality.
"We are attuned to what Joe Biden said of Donald Trump showing 'incredible irresponsibility'. I share Joe Biden's view," said Le Drian.
"I never spoke in that manner but we are coming to such a point! I think Joe Biden's comment reflects reality and I say it very clearly."
