South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will be out of action for about three weeks due to injury, Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed on Tuesday.

Rabada suffered an adductor strain and missed the third T20I against England which was due to be played on December 1. Lutho Sipamla replaced Rabada for the match which South Africa was hoping to win to avoid a 3-0 whitewash.

"Kagiso Rabada, your Proteas Speedster has been ruled out for an estimated three weeks meaning he'll miss the Betway One-Day International ODI series due to a right adductor strain," CSA said.

The One-Day International series against England is scheduled to take place on December 4, 6 and 9.

The statement added that the player will be released from the squad and Bio-Secure Environment to begin his recovery and rehabilitation.

South Africa will hope that the 25-year-old will be available for the two-Test series against Sri Lanka which begins on December 26.
