White House senior adviser Jared Kushner will lead a U.S. delegation to Israel and Morocco next week for talks on the normalization deal the two countries reached last week.

According to Reuters, the U.S. delegation will join a team from Tel Aviv for a first direct commercial flight from Tel Aviv to Rabat as a sign of progress on the deal.

In deciding to normalize its relations with Israel, Morocco has followed similar moves by the UAE, Bahrain, and Sudan in recent months.

Kushner, Middle East envoy Avi Berkowitz and Adam Boehler, chief executive officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, are expected to arrive in Israel on Monday.

During their stay in Israel, the Kushner is scheduled to hold talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The normalization deal has been welcomed by top officials from both countries.

Israel’s Transportation Minister Miri Regev particularly singled out the development that will allow for direct flights between the two countries.

"I am so proud that our grandfathers and grandmothers can visit Morocco while still alive. This is peace," said Regev.
