Twitter banned MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, one of Donald Trump's backers, for spreading misinformation regarding the 2020 election, local media reported on Tuesday.
The misinformation claims include false allegations of voter fraud and election rigging.
A statement from a spokesperson of the social media platform said Lindell, a major Republican donor, was "permanently suspended" taken because of "repeated violations" of the company's civic integrity policy.
The policy states users may not use its service "for the purpose of manipulating or interfering in the elections or other civic processes."
Lindell has repeated the unproven allegations fronted by Trump that last year's election, won by President Joe Biden, was marred by widespread voter fraud.
Lindell's persistent allegations have seen critics call for a boycott of the company and a number of high-profile retailers drop the brand with some citing a reduction in demand for the patented pillow.
Lindell becomes the latest Trump ally to get banned from the platform after Roger Stone and Steve Bannon.
The former president, himself, was banned from the platform after posting tweets which critics claim encouraged the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
Some tech companies, including Facebook and YouTube, subsequently suspended Trump's accounts on their platforms following the chaos.
