Morocco are set to battle it out against host Cameroon for a spot in the final of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) later on Wednesday.

The Atlas Lions – who are the competition's defending champions – qualified for a place in the semi-finals after beating 10-man Zambia 3-1 in the quarter-final stage.

Cameroon have never made it this far in the tournament, but are buoyed by home advantage, albeit without the push of a fully packed stadium due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the fourth appearance of the Teranga Lions at the CHAN tournament, having played at the 2011, 2016 and 2018 editions.

They reached the quarter-final stage in the first two appearances but were knocked out in the Group Stage of the 2018 tournament.

Morocco no the other hand are looking to duplicate their result in 2018 when they lifted the trophy on home soil.

The Atlas Lions coach Houcine Ammouta made it clear that the Atlas Lions are well prepared for the semi-final clash.

"We are a good team ready to play good football and win. I know it will be a tough game because we are playing against the hosts who also have a good team," he said.

The other semi-final game of the tournament will see Mali play Guinea.
