Pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson on Tuesday applied for authorization for their coronavirus vaccine in the EU, with a decision expected starting mid-March.
If approved, the single-shot vaccine would be the fourth to be approved by the bloc after those developed by AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna.
"EMA has received an application for conditional marketing authorization for a Covid-19 vaccine developed by Janssen-Cilag International N.V.," the European Medicines Agency said, referring to J&J's European subsidiary.
J&J's vaccine has been under review by the EMA since December 1.
