Atletico Madrid and Barcelona played out a 0-0 draw at the Camp Nou on Saturday, giving Real Madrid a glimpse of hope in their quest to retain the La Liga title.

Atletico Madrid went into the match as the table toppers with 76 points, two ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The win still leaves them on top of the standings, but a win for Real Madrid against Sevilla on Sunday would change that.

The Los Blancos host Sevilla in a must-win game for Zinedine Zidane's side, and victory would see them leapfrog Atletico Madrid on virtue of having a better record against their city-rivals.

Saturday's result added more salt onto Barcelona's wounds, having already missed an opportunity to rise to the top of the table two weeks ago.

The Blaugrana lost 2-1 at home to Granada when a win would have placed them one point above Atletico Madrid.

Even though the loss was seen as a deep cut in Barcelona's title hopes, analysts gave them another chance to take charge of their chase to reclaim the league trophy in the game against Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid would win the title if Real Madrid fail to win against Sevilla on Sunday and they (Atletico) win all their remaining three games.

The last time Diego Simeone's side last lifted the title seven.
