African nations continued their preparations for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September with more friendly matches involving some of the continent's top sides.

Sadio Mane scored for the second consecutive game as Senegal defeated Cape Verde 2-0 at the Stade Lat Dior in Thiès and make it two wins from two following their 3-1 success against Zambia.

Mane converted an 86th minute penalty to seal the victory after Idrissa Gana Gueye had opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half.

Nigeria and Cameroon played out a goalless draw in their second match against each other in just four days. The previous match last Friday, which was also played in Austria, was won 1-0 by Cameroon.

Morocco edged Ghana 1-0 in Rabat with defender Jawad El Yamiq's goal midway through the second half proving to be the winner while Gambia beat Togo by a similar score.

Benin and Zambia played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in Cotonou in which the West Africans scored a late equalizer to share the spoils.

Goals from Salulani Phiri and Mwape Tandi for Zambia had cancelled out the opening goal by Benin's Cebio Soukou before halftime only for substitute Yohan Roche to pop up 10 minutes from time with the leveler.

Meanwhile, Guy Mbenza scored the only goal of the game just after the half hour mark as Republic of Congo edged Niger 1-0 to extend the West African side's winless run to eight matches.

Elsewhere, Guinea overcame Kosovo 2-1 courtesy of goals from Moustapha Kouyate and Kante while Arb Manaj replied for the Europeans late in the match.
