Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen on Sunday confirmed that midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed on the pitch against Finland on Saturday and that "he was gone" before being resuscitated.
Eriksen was given CPR by medics during Denmark's Euro 2020 opener in Copenhagen after he collapsed face-first into the pitch while running to receive a throw-in.
The Danish football association said on Sunday morning that Eriksen is in a stable condition and will stay in hospital for further examinations.
On Sunday morning the Danish FA tweeted an update which said: “This morning we have spoken to Christian Eriksen, who has sent his greetings to his teammates.
