Four dead in hot air balloon crash in U.S. state of New Mexico

Four people were killed and one was critically injured during a hot air balloon crash in Albuquerque in the U.S. state of New Mexico, authorities said Saturday morning.

According to the authorities, the balloon hit a power line earlier in the morning. The basket the passengers were riding in detached from the balloon and crashed.

One of those killed was believed to be the pilot of the balloon.

New Mexico police tweeted that the crash has caused a power outage in southwest Albuquerque, affecting more than 13,000 customers.

The crash has sparked a massive police presence.
