Denmark booked their place in the quarterfinals of the European Championships with a 4-0 win against 10-man Wales at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam on Saturday.

Kasper Dolberg scored twice; the first was a fine curling effort from the edge of the penalty area in the 27th minute and the second was a close-range finish in the 48th minute following a loose clearance by Wales defender Neco Williams.

Joakim Maehle and Martin Braithwaite added two more goals late in the game either side of Harry Wilson's dismissal to cap off a fine performance.

Denmark, European champions in 1992, has been spurred on by a steely resolve following the recovery of influential midfielder Christian Eriksen from a cardiac arrest he suffered early during the tournament.

Denmark will face either the Netherlands or the Czech Republic in the last eight in Baku.
