Kenya's total of confirmed positive coronavirus cases hit 188,754 on Sunday, following 241 new infections announced by the Ministry of Health.
In a statement to the press, the Ministry said the new infections, tested from a sample of 2,961 had a positivity rate of 8.1 percent.
"From the cases, 222 are Kenyans while 19 are foreigners with 144 being males and 97 females," the Ministry of Health said "The youngest is a six-month-old infant while the oldest ids aged 93.”
Nairobi leads with the highest number of new infections at 165 cases followed by Kiambu with 16, Nyeri with 11 and Nakuru with 10.
Currently, there are 1,092 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide.
Some 4,077 others are under Home Based Isolation and Care program.
Elsewhere, 115 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 37 of whom are on ventilatory support while 58 on supplemental oxygen.
20 patients are being monitored.
Another 209 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 185 in general wards and 24 in High Dependency Units (HDU)
Meanwhile, 1,401 patients have recovered from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 179,520.
