Yemen expects to receive a second batch of COVID-19 vaccines by the end of July through the World Health Organization's COVAX global vaccine-sharing scheme, the health ministry said on Sunday.
Reuters reports a spokesperson to say the Middle Eastern country expects to get 151,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) single-shot vaccine, out of an eventual total of 504,000.
The country received 360,000 doses of AstraZeneca's (AZN.L) vaccine in March through COVAX.
Another batch of the AstraZeneca vaccines is expected to arrive in August, according to the health ministry.
The country rolled out its mass vaccination campaign earlier in the year, majorly in parts controlled by the internationally-recognized government.
By Sunday, Yemen had recorded a total of 6,981 COVID-19 infections and 1,368 deaths.
