The Taliban is optimistic ongoing negotiations will result in the formation of an Afghan inclusive Islamic government, Spokesperson Mohammad Suhail Shaheen said in an interview with CGTN.

Having made a swift takeover of the Afghan capital, Kabul, earlier this month, the Taliban entered into talks with other political groups and individuals over the possible formation of a new government.

In Monday's interview with CGTN's Beatrice Marshall, Shaheen outlined that the main focus of the talks was on getting all political groups and personalities to be part of Afghanistan's new era.
