The UK on Sunday reported 30,439 new COVID-19 cases and 43 more deaths in the latest 24-hour period, according to government data.
The figures represent a marginal increase in the number of COVID-19 cases on Saturday of 30,301 while the number of deaths is a significant drop from the 121 reported on the same day.
The figures, however, are increases from the 6,042 cases and 34 deaths reported on Sunday a week ago.
So far, the UK has reported a total of 7,900,608 confirmed cases and 136,953 deaths since the pandemic began.
Meanwhile, 48,928,952 people have now received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine while 44,969,396 people have received a second dose.
