Iran's Health Ministry on Friday reported 9,897 new COVID-19 cases, taking the country's total infections to 5,683,980.
The pandemic claimed 185 lives in the past 24 hours, said the update by Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education.
A total of 5,186,096 people have recovered from the disease or been discharged from hospitals across the country, while 5,451 remain in intensive care units, according to the ministry.
By Friday, 43,953,106 Iranians have received their first doses of COVID-19 vaccine, and 18,230,064 of them have taken two jabs.
The report added that 33,039,254 tests have so far been carried out across the country.
Iran reported its first case of COVID-19 in the country in February 2020.
